Olive Oil
Creams containing olive oil are wonderful at hydrating, nourishing and regenerating the skin. Olive oil is the true ‘liquid gold’ of plant oils and a powerful weapon against skin ageing and wrinkles.

DERMO-COSMETIC PROPERTIES

Olive oil is an excellent natural remedy for treating the hair and skin. There are many qualities that make olive oil an excellent ally for healthy body tissues:

• It is a rich source of essential fatty acids which help to restore the skin’s natural moisture levels.

• The main component of olive oil, oleic acid, is a constituent of cell and skin membranes.

• Olive oil is a highly useful body emollient which is even used for therapeutic massages.

• It has a notable toning effect on the skin.

• It protects the skin from external aggressions, moisturizing it and maintaining the integral structure of the dermis, promoting its regeneration and hence increasing the skin’s firmness.

COMPOSITION

The triglycerides, fatty acids and hydrocarbons such as squalene present in olive oil all play their part in maintaining the cell cohesion of the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the epidermis), generating a moisturizing action that encourages the skin to maintain its hydration levels, leaving it smooth, moisturized and elastic. Furthermore, its antioxidants (polyphenols, vitamin E and oleic acid) act to trap free radicals, which helps to delay skin ageing.
